Mutya Johanna Datul Wins Miss Supranational 2013 held in Belarus

Mutya Johanna Datul  from Isabela province – Philippines , bested 83 participants from around the world and won the Miss Supranational pageant in Belarus,   a landlocked country in Europe.  Miss Supranational pageant 2013 edition also marked the biggest number of participants ( 84 ) compared to 2012 ( 53 ) , 2011 edition ( 70) , 2010 (66)  and 2009 ( 36) .

Her signature “salagubang walk” a type of beetle walk captured the nod of the judges and the audience.

An early favorite since she arrived in the capital city of Minsk – She is the first Asian to win in the fifth edition of the pageant. The pageant is considered as  the fifth biggest beauty contest in the world after Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International and Miss Earth. She’s taking home the crown, sash , US$ 25,000 and a modeling contract .  Aside from the crown, She was also earlier voted as ” Miss Personality” by fellow candidates and Top 8 ( Miss Internet ) Top 10 ( Best Talent).

This is also the third -time that the country had send official representative to the pageant . Last year’s third runner -up is Ms.Elaine Kay Moll from the Philippines.

Other beauties emerged in the top five were Miss Mexico (1st runner-up), Miss Turkey (2nd runner-up), Miss Indonesia (3rd runner-up) and Miss US Virgin Islands (4th runner-up).

Other delegates who won special awards were Sweden – Miss Elegance, Moldova – Miss Top Model, Puerto Rico – Miss Photogenic, Nicaragua – Miss National Dress, Malaysia – Miss Talent, Miss Friendship – Macau, Miss Internet – Myanmar, Miss Asia and Oceania – Australia, Miss America – Brazil, Miss Europe – Belarus, and Miss Africa – Gabon.

The pageant is organized by World Beauty Association based in Panama. The pageant organizers had been organizing pageant for the past 20 years.
