Los Baños Horticulture Show from October 10 to 20, 2013

The bi-annual Los Baños  Flower and Garden show sponsored by the Los Baños Horticulture Society will be held from October 10 to 20, 2013. While the special opening will be held on October 9, 2013 in which members, vips, media are invited.

The venue of the flower and garden show be at the University of the Philippines –Los Baños -Senior Social Hall, Laguna province.

This year’s featured plants are ” Orchids and Foliage”  The center exhibit will be orchids from Gintung Talulot and Ti plants from Exotica .

More than 60 different kinds of Ti plant will be exhibited  at the center area.  A book about Ti plants will be launched during the show , according to Ms. Marina Catipon ( President of the Los Baños Horticulture Society) . The book will be very useful guide in identifying the Ti plants  and its cultivars in your garden.

Ti, Tiplant, Ti Plant, Ki, Hawaiian Good Luck Plant are some of the common names given by gardeners

The show us dedicated to Philippine National Scientist – Dr. Benito S. Vergara – a long standing member , officer of the Los Baños Horticulture Society , plant breeder and author of several ornamental books.

Aside from the beautiful landscape exhibits and individual plant competition, There will be a commercial area  and Department of Industry ( Laguna)  sponsored booth where one can buy plants, orchids , herbs, garden supplies , agriculture products, native delicacies, handicrafts at a discounted price.
