After several days of closing some of their stores in some parts of the country and lacking some menus like the popular fried chicken , filipino-style spaghetti in some of their restaurants . Another favorite fast-food restaurant KFC Philippines released Thursday a new campaign, riding on the #ChickenSad hashtag on social media.
The #ChickenSad hashtag was started by disappointed Chickenjoy lovers who went home empty-handed after several Jollibee branches ran out of popular menu items such as the well-loved fried chicken, pancit palabok, and some burgers.
According to Jollibee on its Facebook page, the company is currently upgrading its system, which has resulted in the lack of certain supplies.
Netizens vented their frustration on Twitter, with most expressing their disappointment for missing out on their favorite fried chicken.
“A number of Jollibee branches in Metro Manila and a few stores in surrounding cities are currently operating on a limited menu. This is a result of our ongoing major systems upgrade which we are undertaking to further improve our service delivery. Rest assured that this is only temporary,” Harvey Ong, Jollibee VP for Marketing, said in the statement.
We had a small meeting a few hours ago and we decided to place an order at the TAKE-OUT counter of the famous restaurant chain , much to our dismay , BUT we were not able to buy the chicken joy, palabok and even Filipino -style spaghetti . We had to commute to the nearest KFC branch and ordered there.
I guess that someone loss is someone’s gain and in the world of advertising and marketing , There is no such dull moment , good or bad publicity is still publicity . I guess that KFC is getting some of the customers .
However , If these trend continues in the following days, I am pretty sure that the giant fast food company will loose some sales to other competing restaurants.
