Ms. Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of Cagayan de Oro City is Binibining Pilipinas- Universe and will be representing the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

Controversies :

Ms. Christine Ramos Balaguer a deaf contestant was disqualified or was there a conflict of interest a few months before the pageant night.

Ms. Christi Lynn McGarry– Binibining Pilipinas -Intercontinental 2015- She competed at the previous staging of Miss Intercontinental 2010.

McGarry previously held the title of Mutya Ng Pilipinas-Asia Pacific, making her the representative to the Miss Intercontinental tilt in 2010, where she placed in the top 15. If that is the case , Will Binibining Pilipinas Charities switch the titles or dethroned her?

Ms. Teresita Sen ” WynWyn ” Marquez – non-inclusion at the top finalist  .

But it was the term “Wynwyn” that became the second top Philippine trend on Twitter, above “Congrats Pia” and “Janicel”. Netizens wonder if her non-inclusion might be the result of network war or she is not really the favorite of the judges.

Ms. Toni Gonzaga – the way she hosted the pageant cause some stir when a former Binibining Pilipinas- Universe 2000 winner ( Ms. Nina Ricci Alagao ) made a comment using her Facebook account on the style of hosting .

Alagao later apologized. “I apologize. If it will appease her fans then I apologize, but not without pointing out a few things. Just because I said what I said in my previous post it does not necessarily mean I am not also a fan of hers. I admire her confidence and determination,” she said.

Toni Gonzaga’s bashers and defenders exchanged  a day after the actress-singer hosted the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Some netizens found Gonzaga’s remarks during the event witty and entertaining, while others thought that her statements were inappropriate and even disrespectful and arrogant.

Last night, when Ms. Hannah Ruth Sison ( Bb. Pilipinas Candidate No. 28 ) took the center stage for the question and answer portion, Gonzaga took notice of the contestant’s earring and compared it to a chandelier.

”Wow, your earrings, they have their own theme song,” Gonzaga said then sang, “I’m gonna swing from the chandelier,” before holding Sison’s earring.

When it was Candidate No. 25’s turn, Gonzaga told her, “I love your last name Rogelie Catacutan . But red might be your lucky color for tonight. Let’s see who your judge is. Oh, Mr. Frederick Go, go.. go.”

The Binibining Pilipinas 2015 winners are proclaimed but the controversies still will linger for quite sometime.
