9 Historical Moments That Comes Alive at Historycon 2016

History Con 2016 is the biggest history and entertainment convention in this side of the world.  History buffs , students , collectors and enthusiasts trooped to the iconic World Trade Center yesterday .  The event is dubbed ” Manila Makes History ” .

The is the channel’s “way of connecting to their audience; allowing them to feel, live, and see history come alive in an entertaining way,” as said by Prem Kamath, Deputy Managing Director of A+E Networks Asia, distributor of History Channel among others.

 The star-studded line up of History Channel’s on screen personalities including Ancient Alien’s Giorgio Tsoukalos; Storage Wars’ Brandi Passante and Jarrod Schulz; Gangland Undercover’s Ian Matthews and Damon Runyan; Photo Face off’s Justin Mott; and Celebrity Car Wars’ local celebrities include  Mr. KC Montero, Ms. Joey Mead -King, Mr. Marc Nelson, and  Ms.Gabby Dela Merced, have fun with the interactive and/or educational booths featured at the convention.

There is a minimal entrance fees for those  who wanted to visit the show. Here are some of the important historical moments at the Historycon 2016:

9.) Local and International Celebrities in Person – There is a big chance to meet and see the invited celebrities at the event.

8.) World War 2 and Vietnam War Cosplayer – There are a lot of local and international cosplayer around the HistoryCon. One can see the replica of World War 2 uniforms and outfits .

7.) Presidential Cars –  Presidential cars used by General  Emilio Aguinaldo, Jose P. Laurel, and Ramon Magsaysay are part of the exhibit. The exhibit is mounted by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) .  They are planning to have them exhibited on permanent display on a museum to be built in Quezon City .

6. ) Vintage Sarao 1950’s Jeepney – Before the large jeepney with a sitting capacity of 18 to 20 people , There is the more colorful , flamboyant and elaborately designed jeepney from the 1950’s.

 MD Juan Enterprises and the business enterprise was featured several years ago . The company is celebrating another milestone , their golden or 50th anniversary .

5.) Collectibles Items- There were a lot of old , vintage and antiques for sale

4.) Embassy Tour – Got to learn a lot of new things , Australian embassy, Mexican embassy , Israel embassy . It is like around the world experience .

3.) World Record Attempts – There are several contest which will attempt breaking some world records from burger eating contest, largest serving or sauteed mushroom to no sleeping challenge.

2.) World History in Photos and Relics– Philippine Veterans Bank and the Veteran Association of the Philippines mounted a photo exhibit of the Second World War  entitled ” War of our Fathers”   . This exhibit shows the horrors of war and the courage that our forefathers that endured fighting the enemies.

1.) Learn More History Channel Exciting Programs –There are different History Channel programs including Pawn Stars, Vikings, Alone, and Storage Wars . There are also autograph signing opportunities .

There are dog fashion shows , air-soft challenge among others during the 4- day run of the convention.
