The author was invited by a friend and a relative for an early morning mass 6:00am  at the Christ the King of the Universe Parish in Kingspoint . This was a special day since a visiting priest from Parokya ng Ina ng Laging Saklolo of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City . There are two celebrant of mass .  According to Father Tristan , He is making rounds within parish churches within the diocese of Novaliches. He had already visited his 12th parish.

Reverend Father Tristan Jasper D. Laforteza is a diocesan priest of the Diocese of Novaliches . He was born on January 23, 1985 at Gapan City , Nueva Ecija province. He grew up in Jordan Plains Subdivision , Novaliches , Quezon City where his family resides . He finished his primary education in 1997 at the Mater Carmeli School, Lagro , Quezon City . He then entered Maria Assumpta Seminary in Cabanatuan , Nueva Ecija where he finished his secondary education in 2001 .

Fr. Tristan continued his tertiary education  at the same seminary earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 2005 . In his desire to become a priest , he also entered the San Carlos Seminary  at Guadalupe , Makati City wherein he completed his Master’s Degree in Theology in 2010.

Currently , He is a priest assign at the Diocese of Novaliches where the church badly needed repair and there is a chapel nearby which is under going construction . Proceed from the sale of the two books entitled  Connections : God in Everything and Everywhere published in 2012  and LunchBox published in 2013 by Claretian Publications.

The first book is written in English with 95 pages and the second book written in Filipino. Each book cost Php 200 

For those willing to help the causes of the Parokya ng Ina ng Laging Saklolo – Bagong Silang for the rehabilitation of their church and construction of a chapel .

Montare : Food and Event Hub in the Heart of Marikina City

9th Alay Sining Art Exhibit by Rotary Club of Makati

 The 9th annual Alay Sining is run under the auspices of the Gift of Life International which arranges funding for the treatment of children with congenital heart ailments. It has brought aid to over 18,000 children of indigent families in 71 emerging countries. Alay Sining is a noteworthy example of partnership between the artists who have supported the drive, and RCMW that has successfully benefited children and help them lead normal lives.

Among the artists whose works will be on exhibit and sale in this year’s Alay Sining 9 are Abel Agubang, Jinggoy Buensuceso, Glenn Kagandahan, Kenneth Cobonpue, Jojit Nagamos, Jaime Nepomuceno and other leading and up-and-coming artists. Two of Alay Sining’s beneficiares, Maranathalie Balitaon and Rogin de Pedro (2nd and 3rd from left), grace the art exhibit sale launch with Alay Sining president Paolo Delgado, RCMW past president Lou del Rosario,  and participating artists Nepomuceno and Sam Penaso.

There are different kinds of art works from paintings, sculpture , glass works among others, remember that for every time one purchase an art work , they can help save lives.

ART WITH A HEART.  Art can save lives and this has been proven by the Rotary Club of Makati West (RCMW) as it launches its annual charity art sale on November 11-13, 2016 at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5 in Makati City.

MAMAloLa : Neighborhood Food Stall with Exotic Dishes

MamaloLa is a neighborhood food stall which opened their 3rd branch in Novaliches area. The food stall if offering dishes which may seem exotic .

The first restaurant and food outlet opened about 1 year and half at Sauyo Road . This is the first branch. People from Sauyo, Bagbag and Fairview areas were its first customers.

Eventually they opened their second outlet store in Goodwill Homes 1 , San Bartolome Novaliches about 10 months ago .

 The Goodwill branch is smaller compared to the Sauyo road which had bigger place for dine -in customers. the food outlet had small patio area for those who wanted to order and take-out.

A couple of months ago the food business had opened their 3rd branch in Hillcrest Foood Park in , Novaliches -North Caloocan City .

Among the best sellers are Chinese -style vegetarian kikiam ( quekiam ) ( Php 35 each or 3 for Php 100)  and mix -meat and vegetarian style ( Php 60 )

Currently the food stall is getting popular among the residents of Goodwill 1, Kingspoint , San Pedo IX , California Village and nearby areas . Some of the foods they offer includes fried itik, Peking duck , fried crocodile , horse meat , goat meat, fried quail , crocodile soup among others. These foods are favorite pulutan ( finger food) or even exotic meal for special occasions.

The crocodile meat is cooked in different styles – steak ( Php 250 ) sisig (Php 200) adobo ( Php 200) kaldereta ( Php 200) bicol express ( Php 200 ) and croc soup #5 ( Php 180) The food stall is also offering Lechon buwaya ( crocodile ) but customer must pre-order at least 1 week in advance.

Royal Rumble Fish Show in Greenhills, San Juan

Philippine Arowana and Lou Han Society together with different fish societies and Greenhills Shopping Center management will hold a fish show from October 13 to 16, 2016  . The fish show is called ” Royal Rumble ” which will showcase different fish breeds , some of them are rare breeds  on display .

Among the sponsors are Fukuda, The Big Fish Place , Animal Scene , Dymax , Aquavitro , Seachem , Aquatic Imports , Nueva Pet Center , Abo Kingdom , Pepsi and media print partner Manila Bulletin.

The fish show will feature lectures, seminars , exhibits and competition at the show. Unlike other trade fairs and exhibits – There are no entrance fees.
