Grow and Show Plant Bazaar Talk from September 21,22 and 23, 2018

Philippine Horticultural Society Inc. in partnership with Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Management Bureau , Department of Natural Resources and together with Manila Bulletin presents to the visiting public the Grow and Show Plant Bazaar. The bazaar also features interesting topics and lectures series.

The original date of the plant bazaar was moved from September 14, 15 and 16 to September 21, 22 and 23, 2018 because of the typhoon and bad weather.

There are over 50 plant booth selling different items from figs trees, mangoes, tillandsia, orchids, ferns, bromeliads, cacti and succulents, herbs among others.

LECTURE/ Talk SERIES:

–“Giving the Oomph: Cactus and Succulent Staging and Grooming for the Showtable by Mr. RON APOSTOL

Materials can be purchased onsight but Attendees may bring their own tillandsias, mounting base, accessories etc.

The Philippine Tillandsia Society Inc. with the organizers of Grow and Show will also be hosting causal competitions for the following:(Open to All)
1) Tillandsia Ionantha Competition.
There will be 2 categories : Ionantha Species and Ionantha Hybrids. There will be 1 winner for each category to receive a trophy, Php 500.00 cash and an ionantha species for the Sp. category and an Ionantha hybrid for the Hybrid category. Registration starts at 10 AM – 2 PM. Voting will be 60 % by judge’s scoring and 40 % by popular votes. Awarding will be at 5:00 PM that same day. No limit on the number of entries. No entry fee.
2) Best Tillandsia Staging
Tillandsias are versatile so it can be staged in a thousand and one ways. bring over and register your staged Tillandsias and get a chance to win a trophy, Php 500.00 and a pack of accessories.
