Kingspoint Christ the King Parish Parade of the Saints

Parade of the Saints ushered in All Saint’s Day celebration at the Christ the King of the Universe parish within Kingspoint subdivision, Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City.

At least thirty children from various areas under the parish which also includes adjacent areas like Oro compound, Dupax compound, El Pueblo,Kasiyahan, San Pedro IX subdivision, Maloles Ville, Monaco Gran Villas ( Kingspoint) joined the parade to recognize the Saints who defended the faith.

There were few participants from nearby Barangay San Bartolome ( Goodwill Homes 1 and California Village). While some also participated at the first Kingspoint Halloween party a day before, bagging some prizes.

The event started with pre-registration few days before the actual parade around 5:00pm.  There was much anticipation for the event, since this is the first such parade organized by the parish.

San Pedro de Calungsod, Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta

San Pedro Calungsod had the most number of dressed- up participants, no less than 6 portrayed the second Filipino saint.

The activity dubbed as “Parade of Saints,” was its first event for this year’s All Saints Day, introduced different Patron Saints within the church.

This year’s youngest participant who dress up as Saint Teresa of Calcutta is one and half years- old from King Oscar street,Kingspoint subdivision. She was accompanied by her parents and grandmother.

Other participants also included Ms. Reyna Perez from King Oscar, Ms. Hannal Jabal from Maloles, who portrayed Saint Catherine. Mr. Caleb Castro who portrayed San Vincent de Paul from Monaco Homes and Ms. Precious Yhassi Pandan who portrayed Saint Cecila from Maloles Ville.

The parade started past 6:00 pm and passed through several streets like Katipunan Avenue, King Ferdinand street, King Charles street, King Henry street before returning back to the parish.

There was a short program after the parade which highlighted the end of the successful event.

Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines encouraged the faithfuls and parishioners to dressed as Saints rather than dressing up as scary mythical creatures, monsters, ghost,devils and antagonistic characters from the movie.
