Anniversary of Grow and Show from July 13 to 21, 2019

Grow and Show will be celebrating the anniversary this coming July 13 to 21, 2019 a period of 9 day event. The show is in cooperation with Ninoy Aquino Parks and Biodiversity Wildlife Management Bureau and Department of Environment and Natural Resources ( DENR) in Quezon City.

There will be free lectures with raffle, There will be having a Plant Bingo Bonanza, bazaar with 50 plus concessionaires plus an international seller! a table top plant competition which is open to all who wants to participate.

Please note that there is a minimal entrance fee of Php 30 for the general public and Php 15 for students, senior citizens that goes to the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife.

Lecture Series

There will be lecture on July 20 – 10:00 am to 11:00 Mr. Lino Rom- Cactus and Succulent Growing in the Metro

11:00 am to 12:00 nn – Ms. Doreen Dofitas and Mr. Marco Llagas – Know the Dofitas hybrids and learn how to Groom and Stage them.

1:00 pm to 2:00 pm – Mr. Walley Suarez- Amorphophallus: The Beautiful Monstrosities of the Aroid World.

Cactus Moment at Evia Lifestyle Center

National Cactus and Succulent Organization of the Philippine Incorporated (NCSOPI ) in partnership with Evia Lifestyle Center presents to the general public the “ Cactus Moment” a weekend of urban lifestyle gardening from June 29 and 30, 2019.

There will be 25 booths selling different kinds of cacti,succulents, pots, fertilizers, air plants, ornamental plants, soil media, memorabilia items and others.

There is no entrance fees and the general public is invited to participate. The event is from 10:00 am to 11:00pm saturday 10:00am to 10:00pm sunday

1.) Oldest Liquor Distillery in the countryDestileria Limtuaco takes pride of having established in 1852 or 167 years ago.

Lim Tua Co set up a distillery at 135 Gov. Gandara street ( now called Sabino Padilla street) Binondo district, Chinatown, Manila.

2.) Destileria Limtuaco is known different kind of liquor among the famous ones are White Castle whisky, Napoleon VSOP brandy, Sioktong ( originally spelled : SIOHOCTONG) herbal wine now under two different brands-Vino de Chino and Vino Kung Fu. Other brands includes Palawan Rum, Manille Liqueur de Calamansi, Imeldific and Intramuros. Over 30 known brands of liquor are tucked under this company.

3. ) Bahay na Bato – The family purchase an ancestral house in 1979 with the intent of opening it to the general public. It was realize when the museum open its doors to the general public on February 9, 2018.

The museum houses family memorabilia, wine bottles, office equipment, oak barrels and distillery equipment.

The architecture is a combination of hybrid styles of Bahay na Bato, Californian mission style and post- war architecture with adobe stones walls, Chinese granite pavement, tiled roofs, high ceiling, iron grills and large windows which allows maximum amount of light inside the premises. It also have a small patio with several potted plants.

4.) Internationally Awarded – The company garnered several international awards and accolades. The company was accredited by TUV as an ISO certified production plant.

5.) 5 Generations of Masters Blenders – The company takes pride of having 5 generation of master blenders. The company is under the leadership of Mrs. Olivia Limpe-Aw.

6.) White Castle and Company logo – the logo of the famous brand was a product of a dream and the company logo was also designed by Mr. Julius Limpe. While sleeping, he dreamt of a woman in a red bikini, riding a white horse with a white castle in the background, and the rest was history.

Large 22 Foot Imperial Batman at the upcoming Toy Convention 2019

Batman and DC fans will be very happy that a giant 22-foot Imperial Palace Batman is a DC collaboration with Pop Life and China’s Imperial Palace Archives. This will be a  spectacular sight inside Hall 3 of the SMX convention center and will be a fitting tribute to the Dark Knight’s 80th anniversary.

This is one of the attraction at the upcoming Toy Convention 2019 from June 28 to 30, 2019 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila.

Winners at the Cactus, Succulent and Bromeliad Show at SM MOA

Big Winners of cactus, succulent and bromeliad show were announced few days after the grand festival. The event was organized by Philippine Nurserymen Association and BG event management in partnership with SM Mall of Asia and SM Supermalls with media partner Manila Bulletin and Agriculture magazine.

There were more than 50 stalls selling different kinds of cacti, succulents, orchids, plastic pots, fertilizers, ornamental plants, bromeliads among others.

Cactus, Succulent and Bromeliad festival was successful that at least 50,000 went there during the event.
