    1. It depends on what flowering plants are you referring ? Price range is another story. Price is dictated by many factors – demand and supply, season, weather condition , rarity etc….

    1. Please try Manila Seedling Bank, weekend markets like Eaton Centris in Quezon Avenue, There is a town in Pampanga which specializes in cacti growing , then there are several hobbyists like Mr. Ronald Estayan of North Olympus in Quezon City , Architect Bimbo Santos of Project 7 , Botchie Canicula of Rizal province. Please try to PM me if you want to have a short list. However it depends of your budget and locality waht kind of cacti species or varieties are you willing to grow. Thanks for visiting this site.

    1. Good day, I just want to know where are you coming from ? There are good sources of plants from the nurseries in Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan province , while there is also a good sources in the south like Laguna province . The plant was introduced from tropical America long time ago , However for some time, local landscapers were not able to propagate them in vast quantities thus it is not widely available unlike ixora or santan

  3. hello, do you have any archival literature about the first Chicanos in the Philippines and where are they scattered now? I am trying to find my father’s clans’ origin. I am a 4th generation with the last name Chicano, but i am not sure if it is just a last name or an ethnicity. The Chicano family has been in Hamtic Antique for generations and there are also some in Palawan, but I am not sure of their true origin.

Here are some of the agencies were you can make research : National Archives , National Historical Commission of the Philippines along T.M. Kalaw, National Statistics Office in Quezon City or if you have time try to visit the Church of the Latter Day Saints in White Plains , Quezon City – You just need to know the birth dates or baptismal records of your parents, grandparents they have facsimile records of almost all those people . I am also planning to go there to know more about our family’s genealogy. Sometimes you can also pay your local civil registrants a visit . They hold record of surnames of your family members or even those with similar surnames.

  4. Hi. am new to bromeliad growing (am a brom enthusiast) and cant find source for pups or planting materials near my place of residence (am living at Calbayog city, w. Samar). I wish to ask help from you if you know somebody who sell broms and send the same thru a corrier service may be or something. tnxs for your help . . .

    1. Hi, thanks for visiting my blog-site. You can try Insular Botanical Farm located in Quezon province, What I personally know the company is one of the leading propagator of bromeliads and rare tillandsia in the Philippines and perhaps even in Southeast Asia! . Their contact address and information is posted in my previous articles . Insular Botanic Farm company had participated in the recent Flora Filipina 2012 expo held last February 2012 at the Quezon Memorial Circle. The company also export their guzmanias , bromeliads and tillandsias to other countries like Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

I have went to their farm on several occasions and personally bought some hard to find and expensive tillandsias , bromeliads at a very reasonable price . Another famous bromeliad and tillandsia collector in the Visayas region is Mrs. Doreen and Rene Dofitas in Negros province . I think the couple can also ship tillandsias and bromeliads right to your own doorstep.

Here is the link for your reference: https://renz15.wordpress.com/2009/10/04/insular-botanical-garden-farm/

However , any transaction which arises between you and the company is purely personal matters since i am not connected with the company . I hope that i can also visit your garden in the near future fellow plant enthusiast!
