75th Anniversary of Filipino Inventor’s Society at SEDA Hotel

A big celebration and a trade fair will be the highlight of this year’s Filipino Inventors Society (FIS) founding year. This also marks the 75th Diamond Year anniversary upcoming third week of November 2018.

highlights of the celebration is the Dinner/ Award/ Fellowship Night at the SEDA Vertis North Hotel, to be attended by 200+ inventors all over the country with other distinguished guests.

Prior to the Investors Night, the FIS Planning Conglomerate has envisioned an eclectic program on 15-21 November 2018 featuring the much-awaited NATIONAL INVENTORS’ WEEK with the theme: GO INNOVATIONS! – The Green Light for a Greater PHILIPPINES at The Skydome, SM City North Edsa. This is in line of the Presidential Proclamation #285 of 1993 to showcase unique and marketable inventions of Filipinos to the Filipinos.

In line with this, the Officers and Conveners of the Filipino Inventors’ Society (FIS), who would like to seek the support of our dear President RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE to help mobilize our Inventors’ Innovations and Grand Caravan.

The goal is to strengthen our support to PRRD administration’s quest for:

• Inclusive growth and economic boost of the marginalized sectors like farmers, fisher folk, urban poor, etc;
• Re-greening of the country’s air, land, and sea environments;
• Heighten ways to enhance and reduce costs of socialized housing construction;
• Upholding ways to enhance employment generation in the face of certain displacements in countries which do not provide equitable treatment to our co-Filipinos and
• Upraise urban farming, fishing, to provide for self-liquidating livelihood and daily sustenance opportunities

There is no entrance fees in the 7 day trade fair and exhibition.

Philippine Veterans Bank Lauds WWII Heroes and Set Schedule on Bataan Freedom Run

 Philippine Veterans Bank together with its partners once again revisits history by organizing some events to be held in honor of the country’s heroes . This was revealed during the Pandesal Forum at the historic Kamuning Bakery in Quezon City .

The pandesal forum serves as a venue for press briefing about what is the latest happenings in the country . The big event is also supported by Bataan provincial government and tourism.

World War 2 heroes , the 4th installment of the marathon entitled ” Bataan Freedom Run ” and a new event for running and biking enthusiasts dubbed the Mariveles -San Fernando Capas Freedom Trail .

This will also coincide with the 75th Year Anniversary of the Bataan Death March . There will be increased participation by marathon runners from Japan and international delegates .

The marathon will be held on April 2, The Bataan Freedom Run will feature a 42 -kilometer full marathon , a 21 kilometer half marathon as well as 10-kilometers, 5-kilometers and 1 kilometer courses for running enthusiasts , kids and even pets !

As in the previous years , the BFR follows the route of the Bataan Death March and will start at the Kilometer Zero in Mariveles, Bataan.

The good news to international participants of the marathon and relay events is that the local organizer had just converted the fees into dollars without extra cost . 160 kilometer would cost around $ 63.00 or Php 3,000 , 160 kilometer ( 8 man relay team ) Php 1,500 or $31.00 and 160 kilometer (16 man team ) cost Php 1,500 or $31.00

The proceeds of the marathon and other events will be for the upkeep of the death march markers and other projects.

On the other hand , the Freedom Trail will feature , a  punishing 160-kilometer run with individual and team relay categories for marathoners as well as similar -distanced bike run . The new event will be held from April 10 to 11 and will cover the death March route from Mariveles , Bataan to Capas.

” Once again , Philippines Veterans Bank , together with our partners , is putting a segment of our nation’s history into the forefront of our national consciousness with the Bataan Freedom Run and the Freedom Trail , ” said PVB Chairman Dr. Roberto F. de Ocampo , OBE . ” These events are not only challenging physically but also mentally to the runners and bikers , but they are doing this to honor the World War II veterans who endured and made the ultimate sacrifice during the Death March seventy- five years ago”.

Toy Convention 2014 : Epic Launching and Exhibition

Hundreds of people attending the press conference and epic launching. This is indeed one of the biggest gathering of pop-culture enthusiasts, toy collectors and cosplayers converge at the country’s one-stop, nonstop tourism destination , the Resorts World – Manila .

Exhibitors included Toy Kingdom, Arigatoys , Big Toys Toy Store, Filars, Pacific Licensing, War Gaming and Cherry Credits.

This year’s TOYCON will highlight the 75th Anniversary of DC Comics’ caped Crusader, Batman with a huge Batman display area, a life size Batpod, a kids’ activity area, exciting new Batman merchandise, and a gallery of art and collectibles of the Dark Knight Detective.

 Aside from the big toy companies , cosplay event . There will be wonderful exhibits, product launching and limited collectibles items during the exposition.

There were several cosplayers  which attended in press conference. It also serves as a teaser for the event proper .  One of the invited online site writer had dubbed Newport Mall as ” THE Event Launching Site for Toy Convention ”  I must agree with the observation,  It was a crowd drawer and eager guests which also includes foreign expats are very happy taking photos with the cos-players and the main exhibit area located at the ground floor level.

The year’s highlights include the much-anticipated movies, Transformer:Age of Extinction, Jupiter Ascending, Guardians of the Galaxy and Rurouni Kenshin movie 2.
