A tour of La Mesa Dam Environmental Museum & Art Gallery

La Mesa Dam Environmental Museum and Art Gallery, Fairview- Quezon City-Philippines

This is not my first time to visit La Mesa Dam, I have been to the area almost every year due to several environmental projects from tree planting , clean-up , team building , orchid re-introduction  , plant exchanges , swap meet, eyeball ,  plant identification, bird watching  among other  projects.  But this will be my first time to blog about the place.  It was May 1, 2013 when Philippine Hoya Conservation Group decided to hold its swap meet, lecture, eyeball in this park, As posted in my previous entries . Most of the members are from Fairview and Quezon City area, so the eco-park was chosen .

entrance to the La Mesa Environmental Museum

To sustain the Save La Mesa Watershed Project, Bantay Kalikasan, in partnership with the MWSS and the Q.C. Government, rehabilitated and renovated a 33 hectare public park located right outside the natural boundaries of the watershed and 40 meters below the reservoir. In September 2004, it was renamed La Mesa Eco-park and reopened to the public. All income generated by the park  is utilized for the continuous preservation and protection of  the watershed.
