Big Winners at the 73rd Mid-Year Philippine Orchid Festival

Big winners at the individual orchid competition at the 73rd Mid-Year Orchid Festival show by the Philippine Orchid Society at the Flower Garden ( Hardin ng mga Bulaklak) within Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Most of the Vanda sanderiana orchids at the orchid exhibit were from Dr. Olivia Sanchez, Mrs. Vangie Go and Purificacion Orchids.

The big winners were the orchids competition were exhibited by Dr. Olivia Sanchez, Purificacion orchids, Mr. Manuel and Susan Lee.

Aside from getting blue ribbon, glass trophy, ceramic vases. Some of the winners also got cash incentives.

Orchid Festival theme at the 73rd Mid-Year Philippine Orchid Society show

Philippine Orchid Society in cooperation with Quezon City government, Quezon Memorial Circle administration and Manila Bulletin will be having the 73rd Mid-year orchid and garden show. The theme is  “ORCHID FESTIVAL” which will showcase different kinds of orchid flowering during the from August 30 to September 9, 2019 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle (Flower Garden area/ Hardin ng mga Bulaklak), Elliptical Road, Quezon City.

Aside from the orchid landscape exhibits, There will be daily lectures, orchid and plant competition.  stalls selling different kinds of orchids, plants, pots, fertilizers and garden supplies.

There is a minimal entrance fees of Php 30 for the general public and Php 20 for students , senior citizens and pwd with valid Id’s.  This is based on the 72nd Mid-Year orchid show.

Cactus Fiesta Fair 2017

Cactus and Succulent Society of the Philippines in partnership with Quezon City government  and Quezon Memorial Circle administration will host a trade fair and exhibit called ” Cactus Fiesta Fair 2017” at the Hardin ng mga Bulaklak or Flower Garden within Quezon Memorial Circle facing East Avenue side.

This will be held on May 5, 6, and 7, 2017 . Aside from lectures/ talks on various cacti and succulents topics, there will also be a trade fair and exhibit.

There are no entrance fees and the public is invited to join the fair. The fair opens from 8:00am until 6:00 pm .

Allied Botanical Corporation booth is one of the most photographed exhibit at the 70th annual orchid and garden show . It showcase most of the company products such as flowering annuals and vegetables . The company also won 2nd place in ornamental plant landscape competition.

Senator Cynthia A Villar is one of the guests of honor at the show . She said ” Greeting , First of All , Thanks you very much to the Philippine Orchid Society for inviting me once again to attend this yearly event . I consider myself na suki na dito sa taunang orchid and garden show. and as before , I am very happy to be here with all of you once again.

Ms. Miles Hilario won the first place in freestyle flower arrangement with the emphasis on orchid flowers. She is a member of Floral Designer’s Circle of the Philippines .

Architect Bimbo Vergara won 3rd place in the ornamental plant landscaping competition . He also took home the ” Best Ornamental Plant ” of the 70th annual orchid and garden show .

Newly elected officers were inducted by Senator Cynthia Villar and took their oath of office . They have a tenure from 2016 to 2017 when the next Philippine Orchid Society elections will take place.

Fortune Catering Services

Fortune Catering Services was the official caterer of the event. They started to cater various events and functions of plant societies since last year . The lechon was sponsored by Philippine Bonsai Society . The meal that the catering had provided was already an early evening meal.

For those who wanted to avail of their catering services , the minimum is 55 people at Php 300 per head or Php 16,500. They are based in Makati .

70th Annual Orchid Show Schedule ofLectures and Seminar

The Philippine Orchid Society in cooperation with Quezon City government , Quezon Memorial Circle authorities will be having their annual show from February 24 to March 7 , 2016 at the Hardin ng mga Bulaklak ( Flower Garden ) within Quezon Memorial Circle .

Daily lecture will start of February 25, 2016 and there will be a supplemental Fancy and Bantam Chicken show by Philippine Bantam and Fanciers’ Association  from March 5 and 6, 2016 .

There will be a minimal entrance fees of Php 20.00 students and senior citizens with valid ID’s and Php 30 for the general public .

This year’s annual sponsors includes Del Monte , Philippines , Department of Tourism , Pioneer Epoxy with  Manila Bulletin , Philippine Star as media partners.
