4 Beyblade toys and 4 Hello Kitty toys ( mermaid, hero, princes and rockin roll)  included for every purchase of every happy meal. Proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Charity.

Auto Wars Show in Cubao

Ragfest Promotions together with Araneta Center in cooperation with  Rivers Vision for head units ,  and different car clubs. There are over 230 car entries from different categories .

The event took place at the Areneta Center -South Entrance Garage Parking, The show started past 4:00PM where individual cars started to arrive .

The pink Nissan Exalta with Hello Kitty design is owned by Ms. Micha Gla Tanchanco of Malolos , Bulacan . The owner started to customized the car since last year and have cost her around Php 200,000 worth of paint job customization , accessories and its interiors.  In fact this is not the first time that the owner had joined car shows.

Hyundai Eon Club- Philippines

Hyundai Eon Club- Philippines had over 7,000 members all over the country . They have a monthly eyeball . However their facebook group page is strictly for those who own Hyundai Eon . The group was established in 2012 .

There are some people who wanted to make their cars more personalized and customization . Some would put their favorite cartoon characters , anime related theme among others, which would require some MONEY and items. The owner of this car is said to have spent at least Php 50,000 in customization alone.

Mr. Antonio L. Pingol

Mr. Antonio L. Pingol ( left side) is a member of Hyundai Eon Club and started his customization works in his car for just 2 months. His favorite character is Marvel (Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional anti-hero published by Marvel Comics . Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and writer/ artist Mr. Rob Liefeld , the character first appeared in February 1991. (The New Mutants # 98).

He had spent at least Php 15,000 in customization of his car.

Ms. Shirley A. Avellanoza is a car owner of Hyundai , and a big fan of transformer . She started the customization of her car just this year and had spent around Php 50,000 . She is  joining the car show . According to her , there must be at least 10 to 15 Hyundai Eon Club members that usually participates in car show. It was just an exception last saturday , since it rained hard earlier and some of the members decided not to participate  . The club have a regular eyeball at Eaton Centris.

Judging had already started by the time i have arrived at the venue. Participants of the auto war- car show had submitted their entries and some fees.

Note: I was invited by a car enthusiast to visit the show, but was not able to come due to the heavy downpour sometime mid-afternoon.  Stayed for about an hour or so and managed to survive the loud and heavy music that accompanied the AUTO WAR Show. I was amazed with the passion, time and even money that these people allot to their hobby.  All i can say is that there are beautiful models, LOTS of photographers and exciting prizes at stakes. I left the place past 8:00pm when the judging process had begun .

It was a bright sunny afternoon , when I arrived at the lobby of SM Lagro aka SM Fairview when shoppers are already buying a lot of merchandise at the lobby of the mall.

Event: The program started at around past 4:00pm, With representatives of SM management , event coordinators, advertisers, distributors , bloggers, writers , parents with their children and people from all walks of life.  Buyers can avail of the Free entrance to the event by purchasing  Php 300 worth of items and exchange them  for tickets which includes meet and greet with their favorite cartoon character, face paintings, photo opportunities , drawing sessions and other freebies !

The main character of Sanrio which is Hello Kitty is there with her sister Mimi, and with childhood friend Daniel, also with their  parents  and grandparents.

I’m reading the profile of Hello Kitty posted in the wall of the exhibit area and found that her birthplace was in London,  England .

Ms. Jillian Ward is a child star of GMA Kapuso channel 7 who played  Gertrudis “Trudis” Capili in Trudis Liit and television endorser

Almost all collectors thought she was created  in Japan, since she was created by designer Yuko Shimizu back in the 1974 as a character design embedded in a coin purse for Sanrio. I would also remember that majority  of my female classmates in elementary collected Hello Kitty stuffs.

PhilaNippon 2011 – Anime and Manga characters on stamp

Phila Nippon 2011 is one of the biggest stamp exhibition in this side of Asia and the Pacific .

In Japan, World Stamp Expo has been held every ten years since 1971: PhilaNippon 2011 is to be held in Yokohama from July 28 to August 2 , 2011 .

The organizers expect 100,000 people to visit the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall – but philately is still big business. And this year, with the focus on anime and manga stamps from around the world, it may be even bigger.

A special commemorative stamp was issued by Japan Post last January 21, 2011.

Japan Post issues commemorative sets and new products regularly, covering every aspect of Japanese culture: little squares of soft power, traveling all over the world. Anime and manga have been featured on more and more stamps as their role in Japan’s popular culture – and its cultural diplomacy has expanded.

Among Asian countries, one of the most sought after stamp issues comes from Japan, Among Filipinos, the easiest way to acquire stamps from this country is from stamp exchanges and from Filipino overseases contract workers working in Japan.

For PhilaNippon 2011 two commemorative sets are being issued. One shows famous woodblock prints. The other has Astro Boy, Doraemon, Hello Kitty and Pikachu beaming at the stamp collectors of the world in vivid, joyous colour. (To English-speaking fans Doraemon might seem out of place alongside his better-known cohorts, but he’s been a beloved figure of childhood throughout Asia for over thirty years, and the Asian market for anime and manga is far longer-established than its US counterpart.

The Philippines thru Philippine Philatelic Federation will be sending representative to compete and exhibit in the said event.
