Let’s celebrate our 119th Independence Day Weekend At the first ÄRT MÖD Fair 2017 . Experience the freedom of art in multiple forms from June 9 (friday) to June 11 (sunday) , 10 AM – 7 PM at the Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

ÄRT MÖD Fair 2017 provides art enthusiasts, students, mall shoppers and the
general public a convenient and comfortable venue to experience and appreciate
modern art like paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, mixed media and digital art.

Celebrate Year of the Rooster Spring Film Festival at Shangri-La Plaza

Celebrate Year of the Rooster with the 2017 Spring Film Festival at Shangri-LA Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City .

The highly anticipated SPRING Film Festival will be held from January 25 to 29 st the Shang Cineplex in cooperation with Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies at the Ateneo de Manila University .

This is the 11th year that the Spring Film Festival which features 6 films from China will be shown at the Shangri-LA Mall – Shang Cineplex. According to the organizers of the 11th annual spring festival , some of the Chinese films were entries to the prestigious international film festivals like Oscars, Toronto Film Festival, Venice Film Festival among others.

Featured Films

There will be series of noteworthy films sure to delight moviegoers and enthusiasts is Wolf Totem , the story of young Beijing student Chen Zhen’s life among  the nomadic herdsmen of Inner Mongolia , where he adopts a wolf cub in an attempt to save it from death . The film was chosen as China’s 2015 foreign language Oscar entry and adapted from bestseller by Lu Jimin.

A Hong Kong University student in dire need of money takes a lucrative offer to become a surrogate mother for an elite couple . When the contract gets terminated , she refuses to give up the child and runs into hiding , until the biological father finds her , which turns the situation into A Complicate Story . In the hit romantic comedy Book of Love , a casino hostess from Macau and a realtor based in Los Angeles cross paths and ultimately form a magical connection with each other all because they stumbled upon the same book.

Everybody’s Fine sees how a father discovers spending individual time with his kids lead to gaining much of the honesty and compassion that has been missing in their family .

A comedy that leads to chase all over Europe , Horseplay had entertainment journalist Mui tracking down the notorious art thief called Nine -Tailed Fox . The plot thickens as Mui get stuck in quite an impossible situation with the Fox asking for her help to recover the ” Tang Dynasty Pottery Horse” and detective Cheung Ho seeking her assitance to catch the Fox.

Red Amnesia film shows Deng is an elderly caregiver who is determine to remain useful despite symptoms of an aging mind and insists of taking care of her two sons and mother despite their protests . The film was selected in competition for the Golden Lion ,  at the 71st Venice Film Festival. It was also shown a as a Special Presentations at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival.

Aside from the FREE movies , visitors can look forward to series of events hosted by Ateneo de Manila University –Chinese Painting Exhibit from January 25 to 31, enjoy an Afternoon of Beautiful Chinese Melodies : Chinese Musical Concert by the Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies at the Ateneo de Manila University on January 28 at 3:00PM , and take part in a Pastel Painting Workshop with Master Fidel Sarmiento ( President of the Art Association of the Philippines on January 29 at 1:00PM . Finally witness the traditional Chinese Dragon and Lion Dance on February 5 at 2:00PM – Shangri-LA Grand Atrium

Ferrari Racing Car F12 2012 exhibit

SM, North EDSA – The Block, Quezon City, Philippines

Shell Philippines in cooperation with SM chain of mall had a roving exhibit of Ferrari racing car 2012 model. The car is said to be worth millions of pesos and was brought to the country from England. According to the event organizer, the  car engine is missing, maybe the car is just for exhibition purposes. The exhibit was highly successful when the roving exhibit was open last week at the  SM Mega Mall in Mandaluyong ,   with several vip’s from Shell and SM Super mall were on hand to open the exhibit.

In the Philippines, there are countless of race car enthusiast and Ferrari car die cast toy collectors.

The Ferrari racing car exhibit was held  from June 15 to 17 at SM Mega Mall in Mandaluyong City and from June 22, 23 and 24 in SM North EDSA. The roving exhibit is schedule to tour in various SM malls in Metro Manila.
