The Manila International Auto Show is now on its 11th year , with over 500,000 attendees since it started the annual show . There are almost 200 participating companies from automotive sector , 500 exhibitors and  car collector’s club  and over 400 car displays. The show features rand new cars, hybrid cars , concept car launches from the country’s top automobile brands .

8. Kid Friendly Place and Safety Play  –  Volkswagen booth in partnership with Department of Transportation and Communication , Safe Kid promotes a safe place to play and how to properly train children  proper street signs , road safety thru playing . These cute kids which were accompanied by their parents were instrumental in early training .

7. Cosplay and Car Becomes Alive – Bumblee Bee and Its Car counterpart . Bumblebee is a small, yellow  Autobot  with the altmode of a compact car.

The vehicles used for Bumblebee, Ironhide, Jazz and Ratchet were put on display by General Motors .

6. Vintage Cars – most general sense, an old automobile, and in the narrower senses of car enthusiasts and collectors. They remind an era where these car models were made and some of the restored car were on display at the Philippine Trade Training Center . There are several dozens of cars exhibited from early 1900’s to late 1990’s style are on display.

5. Car Test Drive and Road Gear Devices – Another feature of the show is for test the road safety and car endurance . Just do not forget to bring a valid driver’s license and a lot of guts!

1976 British Leyland Mini 1000 ( Austin Citron Green in colour ) which is popularly used by Mr. BEAN.

The most popular display is the Popemobile used by Pope Francis recent visit January 15 to 19, 2015 . The jeepney inspired- vehicle attracts a lot of photo opportunities among the visitors of the event.

Salamander ( the Salamander can travel both on land and in water )

The name Atoy Llave is the one behind Atoy Bodykits– The company is known for their customization of cars  .  The country had a series of floods and strong typhoons which can caused much devastation.   It stemmed from Llave’s desire to do something really useful for the benefit of his countrymen. That and his wish to put the Philippines on the global automotive map.

He made this in partnership with a new company called H2O Technologies, developing it in particular with the firm’s technical head, Mr. Lamberto Armada.

9th Manila International Automobile Show 2013 Highlights Part 1

The country’s largest and most prestigious automobile show opened  a while ago  and will run until April 7, 2013.  The four day event highlighted the importance of the automobile sector in our economy .

There is no shortage of media covering the 9th Manila International Automobile Show from print, radio, television, magazine and even bloggers . I have met at least a dozen writer/ blogger during the event. We used to see each other during blogging convention or writers workshop .

Subaru BRZ Prologue

This is one of the unique car exhibited by Subaru -Philippines, However this was already launched during the 64th Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany late autumn of 2011.  The car looked like a see through x-ray machine with engine parts .

Under the hood will be a 2.0-liter direct-injection horizontally opposed (‘boxer,’ or ‘flat’) four-cylinder engine, code-named ‘FA’ and unique to this model. And while Subaru still hasn’t released an official output, it’s expected to be significantly higher–likely around 200 horsepower.  The body is BRZ’s body will be 165.3 inches long, 69.7 inches wide, and just 50 inches high, with a wheelbase of 101.2 inches .

If there is an award for the ” Most Photogenic Car ” of this show, definitely Subaru BRZ Prologue will get this prize. Almost every visitor of the show had their photo opportunity beside this car.  The guests of honor also were amazed with the design and style of the car.

I have a lot of Motolite dealer friends and relatives from Metro Manila and even in the provinces. They would say  that even if there are other competitors which sells much lower priced batteries in the market . Their loyal clientele would still stick to their  brand. With over 90 -years tuck to their impressive records . No one can dispute to the quality and durability of their batteries .

Joseph Christephen  R. Valente is an artist based from Manila. He uses acrylic, oil , watercolor , pen and ink are among his favorite mediums.

For this year, the World Trade exhibition hall and lobby will offer an exhibition floor space of over 10,000 sq.m and an additional 4,000 sq.m annex building (east wing tent) and some 6,000 sq.m of outdoor exhibit, test drive and stunt performance areas.

One of the highlights of the car show, are the unveiling ceremonies of new car models which are intended for the Philippines market . The car industry sales is improving and the demand for new cars is increasing .

In addition, MIAS extends to the Philippine Trade Training Center building that offers another exhibition floor space of 4,000 sq.m plus another 3,000 sq.m of air conditioned tent connecting the PTTC and WTC east wing tent hall specially installed for the show.
