students busy preparing their dishes

The group got their inspiration from the Empanada de Kaliskis from Malolos City , Bulacan . This is an heirloom pastry which is flaky , deep fried , stuffed with meat.  It’s origin dates back in 1820 and the dish is still an all time favorite among people visiting the province. I have eaten this several times whenever i got a chance to visit Malolos.

The group ‘s had the ability to improvise and even innovate the dough adding Malunggay ( Moringa oleifera)  , Kesong Puti ( carabao white cheese ) , Bulacan longganisa ( Bulacan sausage) then using Jolly’s mix mushroom, garbanzos, water chestnuts and salted black beans .
