Papemelroti  is actually the combination of the first syllables of five names – Patsy, Peggy, Meldy, Robert, and Tina.   They are the children of Benny and Corit Alejandro, who started the papemelroti business. Papemelroti is a specialty shop which carries a wide variety of gifts and decorative accessories. Papemelroti’s history began in October 13, 1967, when Benny and Corit opened a small gift shop along Tomas Morato Ave. (Manila, Philippines). 

I have been an avid buyer of Papemelroti products since the late 1990’s and would visit their main store whenever i have time , This is due to 2 main reasons,

First : I like the original works and the recycled items in which the store is known to produce – I know that by patronizing their products , I am also helping the communities that the store is helping.

Second: one of my hobbies is postcard collecting and swapping them with postcard collectors not only from the Philippines but the rest of the world.

New postcard designs from Papemelroti

postcard, letter and ephemera collectors from around the world. There are 4 new postcard designs that one of the leading paper and craft store in the Philippines had printed.

My foreign friends and swap-mates are very happy on the postcard designs and I bought a dozen  adobo recipe postcard for swapping with my friends abroad. It is quite rare for a Filipino bookstore / gift shop to issue a recipe postcard. I hope that Papemelroti management can make other well-known Filipino recipes like Sinigang, Kilawin, La Paz Batchoy , Bistek Tagalog,  Sisig , Pinakbet .

This is not just to promote these dishes to local postcard collectors but also the international postcard collectors.

 We also liked the Parol on postcard design.

Stamp , postcard collector can send our Christmas greetings early with matching Christmas stamps issued by PHLPOST . BUT we have to wait until past November -before they will release those 2015 Pasko ( Christmas stamps)
