2019 TB Seal Features Philippine Dances

Philippine Tuberculosis Society Incorporated (PTSI) unveiled their 2019 Tuberculosis seal also known as Christmas seal as one of the highlights of the institution anniversary.

The program started with a short message from Engineer Romeo C. Ranjo (TB seal committee). followed by an inspirational message from Mr. Manuel D. Baldemor ( chairperson TB seal committee).

Cancellation of the first day covers and TB seal issued by the Philippine Tuberculosis Society. Proceeds of the fund raising campaign goes to the society and funding of indigent patients of the Quezon Institute.

TB seal 2019 is printed in low quantity of 7,500 sheets and only 100 first day cover (FDC) were printed just for the occasion.

The artists, tb seal committee members who were instrumental for the success of the 2019 TB seal were awarded a certificate of appreciation.

All the artists who contributed their works of art, time and allowing their works to be featured on a pro-bono basis. Some of the artists included Ms. Menchu Arandilla, Mr. Micheal Velasco, Ms. Ronna Manansala, Ms. Rizza Perez, Mr. Al Perez, Mr. Manuel Baldemor.

Asean 2019 :Philippine Costumes Featured by PHLPOST

Philippine Postal Corporation or (PHLPOST ) issued a new Php 12.00 ASEAN 2019 to mark the anniversary of the founding of Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) this month in connection to the thematic release of costume.

The stamp features a a male wearing a barong tagalog and female wearing a traje de mestiza.

TB Seal 2019 Stamp Issuance

TB Seal 2019 campaign of the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI) will be launched together with the anniversary celebrations of Philippine Tuberculosis Society’s Institute’s 109th foundation day and the 81st inauguration of its hospital arm, the Quezon Institute.  This special event will be held on the 16th of August 2019.

Golden Anniversary of Laurel , Batangas: Personalized Stamp Issued by PHLPOST

Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPOST ) Southern Luzon Area IV office recently launched the personalized stamps featuring the town’s historic and famous places of Laurel, Batangas province.

Golden Anniversary of Laurel

The town marked her golden anniversary or 50th anniversary of founding.

Laurel Mayor Randy James Amo led the launching of the personalized stamps together with Municipal Administrator Engr. Ciriaco Calinisan, PHLPost Batangas Cluster Supervisor Emlyn Ticzon, and Acting Postmaster of Laurel Batangas Melvin Calauag.

Also present during the launching were PHLPost Area 4 Chief of Marketing Section Nena Panganiban, assistant marketing specialist Christian Gio Cosa, and Eleuterio Castillo, Postmaster of Tanauan Post Office.

 Anniversary Theme

The stamps bear the theme, “Kalahating Siglo ng Paglalakbay Tungo Sa Pag-unlad at Tunay na Pagbabago… Laurel Bayan Ko, ANG GALING MO!”

Laurel was formerly known as Barrio Bayuyungan (“Bayong”) which means a native bag made from the leaves of buri palm.

PHLPost said the personalized stamps feature the beautiful sceneries, historical structures and places of the town of Laurel.

The stamps feature the old Municipal building of Laurel, Taal Volcano, Malagaslas Falls, and Ambon-ambon falls.

The stamps, first day cover are available in Manila Central Post Office at Liwasang Bonifacio.

National Animals Carabao and Elephant featured in RP and Thailand 70th Diplomatic Issue

The joint issue between Philippines and Thailand which commemorates the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The stamp which features carabao and an elephant, the national animals of the Philippines and Thailand respectively. The stamp and first day cover launched in a ceremony at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on June 14, 2019 Friday.

The event was attended by Thai Ambassador Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, Department of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Enrique Manalo and PHLPost Assistant Postmaster General Luis Carlos.

Carabao and Elephant

The carabao and the elephant were selected not only for their status as the national animals of the Philippines and Thailand, but also for the values they embody.

In Thailand, the elephant is regarded as sacred and symbolizes the country’s glory, history and culture.

The carabao represents strength of character and perseverance of the Filipino people.

The animals symbolize the strong friendship of the two countries,which was established on June 14, 1949.

Philippine-Thailand ties have progressed through various areas including economics, commerce, security and cultural matters.

Thailand is one of the Philippines’ major trading partners.

The two countries are founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, which was established in Bangkok in 1967.
