BIG Winners of Angel Hack Manila Spring 2014

It was an exciting weekend for over 100 plus- participants from all over the country which participated in the Angel Hack Spring- Manila 2014 leg .

cubicle rooms which is also known as incubation room where teams formulate their application software and other plans were hatched .

The participants were group into thirty-six (36) teams did some serious “Eat. Hack. Sleep.” – vie for the prestigious title and a trip to the USA.

This is the second time that there will be held in the Philippines, It is dubbed as ” The World’s Largest Hackathon event ” . The first one was held in Anson’s Building in Ortigas last year.

Yoyager

The event started around past 9:00am from July 26 and ended in the afternoon of July 27 and then the 36 group started their presentations where the judges selected 12 finalists then narrowing them to just 3 finalists. There are a lot of foods , beers , soft-drinks and candies .

Judges:

After two days of hard work and three-minute close door pitch to a set of three (3) judges per room, in no particular order, the top 12 finalists were: Sigurado.co, Who’s Your Nanny (Who’s Your Nanny?), Bitwards (Source-Script Innovations), Pasa Net (Pasanet), Hackerstats, Quotable (Quotable), Baryable (PhilRobotics), Loop Lisa (Team Divided By Zero), sc.io (BluLemons), Goob (Goob), Tusk (Instigators), and BayaniStream (Bayani Stream). One after another, teams did another presentation ( pitch)  in front of all the judges.

“Loop Lisa” (Team Divided By Zero) received the Chikka API award (project management app that uses email/short messaging service and natural language),
 “Baryable” (Team PhilRobotics) bagged the Jury Award (prototype and software that enables people to helps ease their SSS contribution)
. The group is led by Mr. Victor Saromo , Mr. Franklin Binos II , Mr. Keith Beja, Mr. Karim Jordan Buenaseda and Mr. Johnaray Dimaunahan
 

Team Pasanet

“Pasa Net” (Team Pasanet) was declared 1st runner up (earn money by sharing your WiFi hotspot). Team members include Mr. Marco Valmes , Ms. Leivi Inciong and Mr. Allan Ostrea

Libre net was the original name that the group was conceptualizing . The group change it to Pasanet to have the cell of pasaload. or payload worth of sms service.

Team Quotable,The team comprised of Mr. Luigi Dollosa, Ms. Riela Isabel T. Antonio, Mr.  Emanuel Josef V. Saringan, and Mr. Marlo Lao, won first prize. The team motto – The slickest way to highlight on the web.

Their ‘Quotable‘ application aims to “helps you save, curate, and share notable lines that you read on the web.”

The team also participated in the recent Hack the Climate last June 2014.

Aside from their acceptance into the Spring 2014 HACKcelerator program, the team also received the following: a Hackccelerator Travel Package c/o Chikka (round-trip tickets to Silicon Valley), technology packages from Microsoft, Opera, Vogayer and Nokia Maps (Nokia Lumia phones, Nexus 7 tablets, Garmin sports watch, 3-year Azure cloud hosting, $10,000 worth of software), Spinnr PH Music Package (1 year subscription), post-hackathon mentorship, access to A Space Manila, and PHP10,000 worth of Chikka SMS API credits.
