 The company is a domestic corporation duly registered with Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C) on October 25, 1983. It is primarily engaged in the production of various agricultural crops, to include various types of cut flowers, flowering pot plants, and flower bulbs.

At present, they are cultivating about 6 Hectares of covered are in various locations in La Trinidad, Benguet . Among the crops they are growing include: Spray Chrysanthemums, Roses, Liliums, Carnations, Gladiolas, Tulips, Hyacinths, Poinsettias, Potted Chrysanthemums, Kalanchoe, Impatients, and many more. Their main market includes Metro Manila and other key cities in the country. They are also into exports of Calla Lily Bulbs to Holland and Rooted Cutting to Japan.

This is one of the 5 agricultural companies which actively participated in the horticulture show . Their landscape display area is bigger than most of the exhibit.

East West Seed Company

East West Seed Company was established in the Philippines in 1982 by Simon Groot, a Dutch agriculturist who saw the need for seeds that were adapted to local conditions in Asia.

Different varieties of flowering plants like zinnias, impatients, petunia, vincas , marigold, vegetable crops adorn the exhibit display

At the time, the vegetable seed industry in Southeast Asia was little more than a seed trading system. No one was doing vegetable plant breeding, which involves years of trials, selection, crossing and investment.

Mr. Simon Groot saw the opportunity for locally-developed hybrid seeds, and all the remarkable characteristics they were known for, like higher yields, better disease tolerance, better shelf life and extended growing seasons.

Ms. Jeanne Goulbourne is an advocate of Philippine textile fabric and Philippine fashion. She is also known for her other advocates like the love for the environment and herbal plants.

Horticulture 2014 show will run until February 3, 2014 – Entrance fees is Php 40 for the general public and Php 20.00 for students, senior citizens and government employees with valid ID’s . There will be daily lectures, seminars, demonstration ,  landscape exhibit , commercial flea market where quality and  affordable plants, gardening supplies , agricultural products, herbs, orchids, flowering plants, vegetable seeds, fruit trees, fertilizers are for sale.

There will also be a 2-day technical conference at the Bureau of Soil and Water Management just beside the Department of Agriculture compound Elliptical Road corner Visayas avenue .

The landscape exhibit and lecture area opens from 8:00am to 6:00pm

We were given a rare opportunity by Philippine Horticultural Society Incorporated ( PHSI) to get some teaser for the upcoming Horticulture 2014 event  .

This is the biggest plant show schedule at the beginning of the year, an opening salvo of some of the major players in the horticultural industry .  Aside from exciting landscaped exhibits and individual plant competitions.

There are also daily lectures from industry’s top players , professionals, academe , business entrepreneurship, organic farming, tourism , propagation techniques , new trends in urban gardening ,  organic agriculture ,  health and wellness  activities .

This year’s show promises something BIG for the industry . In partnership with the Department of Agriculture ( DA) and its attach agencies , Department of Tourism ( DOT ) , Department of Labor and Employment ( DOLE) , OWWA, Quezon City Memorial Circle  park management , Quezon City government  , Department of Trade and Industries ( DTI) , Department of Foreign Affairs ( DA) and major plant societies and  garden clubs  will mount an interesting show, trade fairs, lectures, demonstration, tour  and a  2-day technical conference at the Bureau of Soil and Water Management  from January 24 and January 25, 2014 .

The show will open on January 23 , 2014 with exclusive invitation to members , special guests and media , While the exhibit and lecture areas will  formally be opened to the public from January 24 to February 3, 2014

There will be a minimal entrance fee of just Php 40 general public and Php 20 for students , senior citizens and government employees with valid ID’s. The show organizers wanted everyone to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the landscape exhibits , lecture and other advocates in which PHSI is known .
