Around the World Toys Series 2 from Jollibee

The country’s largest fast food chain again release another set of kiddie meal toy which will bring delight for children and fast food collectors not only in the country but the rest of the collecting community.

Dubbed as ” Around the World series 2” this showcase Jollibee mascot in different tourist destination sites around 6 destinations and countries.

California, USA shows Jollibee on top of surf and waves. It had a movable base which can move up and down.

Venice in Italy where gondola is a traditional, flat bottomed boat, often the gondola is propelled by a person portrayed by Jollibee (the gondolier) who stands facing the bow and rows with a forward stroke. The character had a detachable paddle and its arms can move forward.

Hawaii, USA – Jollibee had a garland of yellow flowers and guitar. Hawaii is well known for her flowers and guitar makers. Large Filipino expats community also lives in the state.

Hong Kong, China – Jollibee is sitting on a dragon boat with movable arms beating a drum. Dragon boat race is quite popular in the territory.

London, United Kingdom – Jollibee is portrayed as Queen’s guard (guards on foot) wearing full-dress uniform of red tunics and bearskins (hats). With its iconic black tall hat and movable arms. The company just recently opened a branch within the outskirt of the the city.

Singapore– Jollibee is standing beside the country’s most iconic symbol. The merlion is part mythical creature with head of a lion and body of a fish is an iconic mascot of the city state. The merlion is detachable,  It can be lighted up and change into different color specks by a switch on the side of the merlion.

The downside of having a battery operated lighting merlion, Is that it’s lighting feature may not last long when children keeps on playing the item.

This is a better kiddie meal series compared to the first one issued earlier this year.  Aside from bringing joy and happiness, This also bring educational awareness on geography of the respective country and marketing on other foreign branches of the company.

The toy series can be bought at all Jollibee stores nationwide from November 1, 2018 until supplies last.

First Series

The first series of the Jolly Kiddie Meal Jollibee “Around the World” toys was released from February 1 to 28, 2018 and  part of Jollibee’s 40th anniversary.

Among the countries featured where Canada, Vietnam, New York, Texas, and the Philippines, dressed in some of the most iconic costumes from these places.

Note: The author is lucky to have completed both set of kiddie meal toys.

Warning : The toys had some small parts which can cause some choking hazard for children less than 3 years-old. Adult supervision is a must for children playing this toy set.

Nissan Philippines Set To Join in New Season of Nissan GT Academy

Nissan Philippines Inc. ( NPI ) confirmed its participation in the upcoming Nissan GT Academy 2016 , which will be launched later this year. This was announced during an exclusive screening of the Nissan reality show , produced by NPI’s broadcast partner ABS-CBN channel 2 .

First launched locally in March 2015 , the Nissan GT Academy saw over 13,000 aspiring racers participate in over 20 live events held in key cities in the country within a four month period. Twenty players with the best race time in the game then advanced to compete in the National Finals, where they were subjected to physical , driving, media and virtual challenges to determine the top six contenders.

 From the 20 finalists, Mr. Luis Cachero , Mr. Rafael Lesaguis ,Mr. Terence Lallave, Mr. Jose ” Joward ” Policarpio , Mr. Joel Agojo and Mr. Daryl Brady were selected to join the Race Camp at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in the United Kingdom in August 2015 .

The Philippine Top 6 then underwent a 9-day competition against finalists from Japan , Thailand , India and Indonesia to determine one winner for the Nissan GT Academy Asia leg. Mr. Policarpio bested the rest of the finalists in a qualifying race and was named the first Nissan GT Academy Asia- Champion .

Nissan Philippines Top 6 GT Academy Advances to the World Finals : Race to Silverstone , United Kingdom

Nissan GT Academy Philippines  since its March 25, 2015 launching,  The competition had garnered over 15,000 virtual racers from Metro Manila, Bacolod , Cebu, Davao  and Cagayan de Oro .

Top Six Winners – Mr. Raphael Miru Lesaguis , Mr. Luis Cachero , Mr. Terrence Aldrich Lallave,Mr. Jose Gerald Policarpio,  Mr. Daryl Brady and Mr. Joel Agojo together with Mr.  Jof Cox ( Driving Specialist and GT Academy Specialist ) , Ms. Nicki Hewson ( events manager ) Mr. Marlon Stockinger ( Filipino-Swiss -Louts F1 Junior Team race car driver and mentor) Mr. Antonio Zara ( NPI President and Managing Director) and Mr. SJ Huh ( Nissan Philippines NPI  . General Manager for Marketing ) 

The participants out-race each other in over 30,000 trials held over the course of over twenty live events during the three-month run. Out of  that field emerged the country’s first TOP 20 contestants who battled it out in the National Finals on July 14 to 15 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines parking lot and at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium.

The other 14 finalists includes Mr. Francisco Adriano, Mr. Paolo Vittorio Alcance,Mr. Rabbboni John Buenaventura,Mr. Kim Roger Chong,Mr. Juan Carlos Eejay de Borja , Mr. Ramoncito de Luna, Mr. Rodolfo Faustino,Mr. Rio Halili,Mr. Richard Dean Jose, Mr. Jan Millard Lacuna,Mr. Luis Antonio Moreno, Mr. Cameron Jordan Padillo , Mr. Mark Angelo Villamor and Mr. Micheal Vincent Yap.

We also had some opportunity to meet some of the lucky finalists for some photo opportunities. One of the finalists and eventually one of the top 6 winners is Mr. Daryl Brady , a graduate of STI – Parañaque and currently working as a freelance I.T. race driver development . He also told us not just the actual driving challenges using real cars but also he had to go through series of physical , mental and personality challenges .  He is accompanied by his mom and a sister. He saw an advertisement from a top motoring facebook site which promoted the event and eventually signing-in for the try outs.

The six Philippine national winners will vie and compete along with other winners of Thailand, India, Indonesia , Japan .- Aside from the bragging rights and awards. They will have series of trainings for the next 2 months and mentorship and coach from Mr. Marlon Stockinger and the rest of the team.

ABS-CBN channel 2  will cover  the international event which will be held at the iconic  Silverstone Race Circuit in United Kingdom this coming August 2015. According to Mr. Marlon Stockinger , He lived near the racing circuit while training before.

Honorable  Lord Jack Wilson McConnell, Baron McConnell of Glenscorrodale (born 30 June 1960) is a Scottish politician and a Labour life peer in the House of Lords.  He was third First Minister of Scotland and youngest  First Minister from 2001 to 2007. He was the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Motherwell and Wishaw from 1999 to 2011. McConnell became an MSP in the inaugural elections to the Scottish Parliament in 1999, later holding the positions of Finance Minister, and Education Minister. He was elected First Minister following the resignation of his predecessor Henry McLeish, and led the Scottish Labour Party to its second election victory in the 2003 election.

After leaving office as First Minister of Scotland, McConnell became a member of the UK House of Lords, and committed to continuing his work in Africa tackling poverty, including building on the relationship between Scotland and Malawi.

III.  Principles – Human rights refers to the belief that all human beings have inherent individual and collective rights , as express in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ( UNHR, 1948)

IV. Criteria for Goals – adopts a holistic approach that recognizes development as a basic human right, strengthens public service  systems to improve human development outcomes , and promotes genuine peace.

After a short power point presentation , There was a short question and answer portion . The discussion was so lively that almost all bloggers were given a chance to talk and discussed what they have in mind about the goals that the UN is setting not only for the Philippines but for the rest of the world.  It is not everyday that you meet and interact with a parliamentarian which have a soft spot for the  underprivileged .

I was given the opportunity to ask a simple question  with regards to media killings and environment activists that were killed because of their advocacies . The current role of social media and bloggers also play a crucial role . Exposing and amplifying our advocates can start changing someone’s life.
