Mrs. Elisa S. Montecastro memoriam- a tribute to a collector and friend

She was fondly called Maam Elisa , I first met her in one of Philippine Horticultural Society’s meeting in 2005 . She was very funny person and is considered as a friend to everyone who knew her. She was down to earth and never forget to share her personal stories and plant adventures to everyone.

A certified globetrotter and plant lover , her house and resort would attests the variety of plants , furniture and wood carving bought from different parts of the country and the world.

I have the chance  of working with her as part of the volunteer committee during the Flora Filipina 2006 held at the Ruins of San Ignacio in Intramuros.  She is quite active in various fields.
